About Us

The Allegheny Valley Conservancy is a local, non-profit land trust supported by members and governed by a volunteer board of directors.  It was formed in 2002 by conservation-minded people in Venango County.  The group hoped to continue to protect the beautiful natural areas of the watersheds of French Creek and the Allegheny River.  We want to preserve the natural beauty and ecological integrity of these watersheds for the benefit of present and future generations.  We work towards this goal by acquiring and protecting land, monitoring conservation easements, and promoting responsible land use practices.
